Research in Biology
The research projects within the unit are within the topic area of the research staff and specialists. Almost all include collaboration, both international and local. The results of these studies appear in peer reviewed articles and books, and are presented in lectures and at international and local conferences.
The research areas in biology include for instance studies of the innate immunity, evolution and behavior of sympatric morphs, biogeography of spiders, responses of terrestrial ecosystems to climate change, ecological progression, colonization and ecology of owls and ants, microbial diversity in geothermal areas and the effect of inbreeding on genetic diversity in eagles.
